Hello! I’m Shawnee Palmer, the primary therapist, and owner of Alpine’s Empowerment Agency. It’s essential that my clients know who I am and what I believe in. I’m a Licensed Addiction Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver. I specialize in working with high-risk youth, adults, older adults ages 55 and up and families who are caregivers to older adults.
I provide prevention and intervention services to youth, young adults and older adults who are at risk, have a mental health diagnosis and those who struggle with substance abuse. I have experience working with individuals who have Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective and Personality Disorders. I also have worked with homeless teens, adults, veterans, and families by linking them with community resources.
I believe that each of my clients deserves to be protected, valued and provided with all the necessary support to become the people they strive to be.
Alpine’s Empowerment Agency was named after my own grandmother, Alpine Berry. Although she passed away when I was only 5 years old, my grandmother was critical in shaping the woman I am today. She taught me how to read, fostering my love of education. I also learned how to overcome adversity and show compassion to others. Her commitment to keeping our family unified guides the work that I do today. I want my clients to feel whole and comfortable expressing themselves in a “judgment-free” space. I’m committed to keeping families intact and equipping teens and adults with the tools to become leaders in their communities.
