Alpine’s Intensive Outpatient Program provides structured, compassionate, trauma-informed behavioral health treatment for adolescents and young adults who need more support than traditional weekly outpatient therapy but do not require inpatient hospitalization.
Programs are organized by age and developmental needs:
- Adolescents: Ages 12–17
- Young adults: Ages 18–25, including college students and young adults transitioning from foster care or other systems of care
Adolescent IOP — First Cohort
Program status: Enrollment and referral interest are being accepted for September and October adolescent cohort.
- Ages: 12–17
- Schedule: Two after-school sessions per week
- Format: In person in Colorado Springs
- Cohort size: Approximately 6–8 participants
- Program length: Determined by clinical need and individualized treatment planning
- Start date and final meeting times: Monday, September 14, 2026/Monday and Wednesdays; virtually from 4:30 PM-7:30 PM
Participation will include structured group treatment, individualized treatment planning, clinical assessment, care coordination, and family involvement when clinically appropriate.
Young Adult IOP
Program Status: Enrollment and referral interest are being accepted for September and October young adult cohort.
The young adult program is being designed for individuals ages 18–25, including college students and young adults transitioning into independent living. A virtual participation option is planned to improve accessibility.
Program dates/schedule: Tuesday, September 29, 2026/Tuesday, Thursady and Friday; virtually from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM
Who May Benefit?
Following a clinical assessment, the program may be appropriate for adolescents experiencing:
- Anxiety or depression
- Trauma-related symptoms or PTSD
- Emotional dysregulation
- Difficulty managing stress
- School, family, or relationship challenges
- Major life transitions
- Co-occurring mental health and substance-use concerns
- A need for more structure than weekly outpatient therapy provides
Alpine’s currently plans to address substance use within the context of co-occurring mental health treatment. This program should not be described as a dedicated substance-use IOP unless that service and its applicable payer arrangements are fully confirmed.
How to Get Started
Step 1: Submit a Referral
Parents, guardians, healthcare professionals, schools, child welfare professionals, and other community partners may submit a referral through Alpine’s Secure Referral Form.
Families may also contact Alpine’s directly to request information.
Step 2: Complete a Pre-Screening
An Alpine’s team member will conduct a brief pre-screening to gather initial information, discuss program availability, and determine whether a comprehensive assessment should be scheduled.
Step 3: Complete the Clinical Assessment
A comprehensive clinical intake assessment is completed to evaluate the participant’s needs, safety, eligibility, and appropriate level of care.
Step 4: Admission and Treatment Planning
If the program is clinically appropriate and space is available, the participant and parent or guardian will receive information about admission, scheduling, individualized treatment planning, insurance verification, and any applicable authorization requirements.
Admission is not guaranteed by submitting a referral. Placement is based on clinical appropriateness, program capacity, service availability, and completion of required financial or insurance verification.

Insurance and Payment Information
Insurance participation and coverage vary by plan and service. Benefits, network participation, medical necessity requirements, prior authorization, deductibles, copayments, and other financial responsibilities must be verified before admission.
Acceptance of a health plan does not guarantee that IOP services will be covered or authorized.

Admission is based on a comprehensive clinical assessment and determination that intensive outpatient treatment is clinically appropriate.
